Igniting Local Love with Neighborhood Menu Initiatives

Major Bloom’s new Neighborhood Menu is more than a slate of affordable cannabis products: It’s a celebration of the small businesses just steps away in Green Island and the Canal District.

The Neighborhood Menu features specially-created products, like co-branded pre-rolls, that align Major Bloom’s manufacturing operations with the ethos of neighboring businesses. The initiative fosters community spirit and recognizes the need for localized support. Community engagement is crucial in the age of information and global connectivity. While national and international events profoundly influence our day-to-day lives through our devices and the internet, supporting neighbors and small businesses remains paramount.

The Neighborhood Menu initiative was born from interactions with residents during the Major Bloom’s construction phase. The community was welcoming of a cannabis business and expressed a need for affordable flower and pre-roll products. It’s clear that the Millbury Street area thrives on the labor of hardworking individuals running businesses that offer quality services at economical prices. For instance, Tom’s Deli, known for its hearty Polish sandwiches, sees a rush during lunch hours from a diverse clientele, including blue-collar laborers such as construction workers, firemen, and utility people. The deli’s commitment to serving the community inspired Major Bloom to collaborate on a co-branded product, the Tom’s Deli Bread & Butter Pre-roll.

Similarly, TrimCity Barber, which opened its doors two years ago, has formed a strong relationship with Major Bloom. Its owner, a regular customer at the cannabis shop, supported the idea of co-branded products, enhancing mutual visibility and customer base. Patsie Duggan’s, a well-established local dive bar, has also partnered with Major Bloom. After discussions with patrons who frequently visited both establishments, the Patsie Dugans Infused Pre-roll pack was developed and quickly became a hot item.

The collaboration extends to local businesses like Evolve Fitness, Pasta Mani, and Femme Bar. These establishments add to the community’s vibrancy and are relatively new, sharing similar challenges and aspirations with Major Bloom, which has been operational for just three years. By engaging with these businesses, Major Bloom aims to underline the importance of local enterprises, emphasizing that supporting these businesses means investing in the community’s overall well-being and prosperity.

Each day, more than 400 customers visit Major Bloom’s retail store. Anyone who purchases from the Neighborhood Menu (and subscribes to the Major Bloom Newsletter) is entered into a monthly raffle to win gift cards from these local businesses, directly supporting the local economy. This ongoing engagement is complemented by communications about weekly specials, new products, industry updates, and community events through various channels, including the Infused Influence podcast, which features interviews with community and industry leaders, from politicians to fellow business owners.

Major Bloom’s Neighborhood Menu is more than just a marketing initiative: It’s a testament to the power of community engagement and the positive impacts of supporting local enterprises. By integrating with and promoting the local business ecosystem, Major Bloom enriches its community ties and sets a standard for corporate responsibility in the cannabis industry.
